Injectables

Injectables refer to a category of non-surgical cosmetic procedures that involve the injection of various substances into the skin to address specific aesthetic concerns. These treatments are often used to reduce wrinkles, restore volume, and enhance facial features.

  1. Dermal Fillers:

    • Purpose: Dermal fillers are used to restore volume and fullness to the face, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

    • Common Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, and poly-l-lactic acid are common ingredients in dermal fillers.

    • Areas of Treatment: Dermal fillers are commonly used in areas such as the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.

    • Duration of Results: Results vary depending on the type of filler used but generally last from several months to over a year.

  2. Neuromodulators (Botulinum Toxin):

    • Purpose: Neuromodulators temporarily relax facial muscles, reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles and preventing new lines from forming.

    • Common Brands: Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are common brands of neuromodulators.

    • Areas of Treatment: Neuromodulators are often used to treat forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows.

    • Duration of Results: Results typically last for a few months, and repeat injections are needed to maintain the effect.

  3. Kybella:

    • Purpose: Kybella is an injectable treatment specifically designed to reduce submental fat, often referred to as a "double chin."

    • Common Ingredient: Deoxycholic acid is the active ingredient in Kybella.

    • Treatment: A series of injections is administered under the chin to break down and eliminate fat cells.

    • Duration of Results: Results are generally long-lasting, and additional treatments may not be needed once the desired outcome is achieved.

  4. Sclerotherapy:

    • Purpose: Sclerotherapy is used to treat spider veins and small varicose veins by injecting a solution into the affected veins, causing them to collapse and fade.

    • Common Ingredient: Hypertonic saline or other sclerosing agents may be used.

    • Areas of Treatment: Typically used on the legs to improve the appearance of spider veins.

    • Duration of Results: Results are noticeable over time as the treated veins gradually fade.

  5. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP):

    • Purpose: PRP involves the extraction and injection of the patient's own blood plasma, rich in platelets, to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture.

    • Common Treatment Areas: Often used for facial rejuvenation, including the improvement of fine lines and skin texture.

    • Duration of Results: Results may vary, and multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal outcomes.
